LG Electronics is a Korean company, previously known as Lucky-Goldstar but today preferring the catch-phrase Life is Great. LG Electronics employ some 82,000 people worldwide in 110 different operations. Since 1994 LG Mobile have carved themselves out a name for gorgeous looking and fully functional fashion handsets and with the runaway success of their Chocolate range, which they continue to build upon, they saw 14% brand growth in 2006 - a staggering figure when you consider that they were already in the league of the top 100 brands worldwide. Proving that they are not content to rest on their laurels, LG Mobile phones have since come up with the equally stylish and yet markedly different LG Shine and most recently the LG Prada. They now have one of the biggest design teams in Korea and were recently recognised as the Best Design Team of 2005 - 2006 by Red Dot Design Award, in addition to attracting favourable comparisons to Sony and Apple across the industry.
