Who are O2

O2 UK previously known as Cellnet and then BT Cellnet have been operating in the UK since 1985 and owns 100% of its mobile interests in 4 countries - UK, The Republic of Ireland, Germany, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. O2 purchased the rights to the Millennium Dome in 2005. Of all the UK mobile networks O2 has the most subscribers - in excess of 11 million UK customers making 45 million calls and sending more than 20 million text messages every day. O2 is a leading provider of mobile services to consumers and businesses in the UK and they are market leaders in non-voice data services, including text, media messaging, games, music and video, as well as data connections via GPRS, 3G and WLAN (wireless Internet). Readers of Mobile Choice Magazine voted 02 as the best network at the 2006 Consumer Awards.

O2 Services

O2 offer a wide range of monthly contracts and pay as you go deals. Discounts and special offers are offered to those willing to subscribe and manage their account online rather than through a high-street store. O2 also offer a wide range of deals specially designed for the travelling business customer. Individual and group business deals are available for mobile handsets such as 02's own XDA smart phone, charges are based on data usage with various tiers of preset allowance and additional costs for any data transferred above this amount. For customers that regularly do business in The Republic of Ireland, O2 offers the Ireland bolt-on which gives business customers calls to the Republic of Eire at 50% of normal cost under a subscription of just 99p per month. O2 also offer a full range of 3G multimedia services to compatible handsets.
